Lululemon Kicks Off Yoga Rouge Event Series

The days are getting longer, the temperatures are (ever so slowly) heating up, and Toronto is coming alive with so much summer excitement that you probably feel like you need a personal assistant just to keep track of it all. This week, in an effort to help you prioritize, I’ll be highlighting three upcoming fitness events that offer a healthy—and free!—alternative to patio hopping. First up: Lululemon’s Yoga Rouge event series.

Lululemon‘s Toronto chapter has been upping its event game as of late, and I, for one, am not mad about it. Last Monday evening, our local Lemons hosted the first event of their three-part Yoga Rouge series at the stunning Artscape Wychwood Barns. The completely free, open-to-the-public, three-hour event was meant to build community and encourage mindfulness, both in our yoga practice and in our everyday lives.

After signing in and finding a spot for our mats, we were invited to grab a complimentary Flow Water, design a flower bracelet at the Blossom & Bloom booth, and chill out in the beautiful space. Shortly after, we were introduced to The Five-Minute Journal and guided through a mindfulness exercise that had us setting daily intentions and harnessing our long-lost gratitude. Finally, we were treated to a 60-minute yoga class co-led by Duncan Parviainen and Tasha Rooke. The well-rounded and rejuvenating class began with an ab-burning boat pose and ended with a blissful savasana, with unexpected dance movements sprinkled throughout to help liven up our flow and shake off those Monday blues. I left feeling energized, inspired and ready to tackle the week ahead. (And, OK, I was also feeling really hungry. Insider tip: It’s a long night, so bring a substantial snack if you’re coming straight from work.)

The remaining two events of this series are scheduled for June 21 and August 23—same place, same deal (as far as I know). Keep an eye out for registration details on LululemonTO’s Facebook page, and be ready to act quickly because these events tend to fill up fast.
