Lolë Takes Its White Tour On The Road

The days are getting longer, the temperatures are (ever so slowly) heating up, and Toronto is coming alive with so much summer excitement that you probably feel like you need a personal assistant just to keep track of it all. This week, in an effort to help you prioritize, I’ll be highlighting three upcoming fitness events that offer a healthy—and free!—alternative to patio hopping. Up next: The Lolë White Tour and its new On the Road offshoot.

It all started in the summer of 2012 in Montreal’s Olympic Stadium, when Quebec-based women’s activewear company Lolë set out to do something big. The brand’s White Tour was born: a large-scale, outdoor yoga event with attendees dressed in head-to-toe white as a symbol of peace, practicing yoga atop the brand’s signature yellow mats to the sounds of live music. Since then, the Lolë White Tour has popped up in historical landmarks, renowned museums and iconic parks all over the world, promoting well-being and uniting communities through yoga. Since its inception, the event has attracted roughly 50,000 people across Canada, the U.S. and Europe.

This year, the tour touches down in Toronto’s Exhibition Place on July 28 and in Montreal’s Old Port on August 18, but this time the thousands of participants will be gathering in the early evening hours and doing their yoga classes beneath the setting sun, with a musical performance to follow. And as an extra treat, as in years past, each yogi receives a Lolë gift bag and the yellow yoga mat is theirs to keep. Early-bird tickets for this sure-to-be unforgettable evening start at $35 each and are still available for purchase online. Prices go up on June 14.

I’ve been hearing about this event for the past few years and have been dying to attend, but the timing just never worked out for me. I’m so thrilled that this year I’ll finally get to experience it for myself.

But wait, didn’t I say this was a free event? I did! There’s more.

Never one to rest on its laurels, Lolë surprised us all recently with the announcement of its new Lolë White Tour On the Road, a free event series hitting more than 50 cities around the world on June 21—International Yoga Day. This event was imagined as a way to celebrate yoga on a mass scale, but in a more intimate setting, with community-driven classes limited to 150 yogis each. All participants will receive a free yoga mat, a Lolë gift bag and a $15 Lolë gift card. And as with the original White Tour, the classes will be set to music and all yogis are encouraged to don their summer whites. Don’t have anything white to wear? Check out Lolë’s White Kits online for some inspiration.

I managed to secure a spot in the evening session at Toronto’s Canoe Landing Park, which appears to be fully booked now, but it looks like there are still openings in other Toronto-area sessions, so go take a look before it’s too late.

To stay in the know about Lolë Women‘s upcoming events, follow them on FacebookTwitter and Instagram. And be sure to check back here tomorrow for details about another free fitness event you won’t want to miss.
